Classic Harness is Zilco’s original design with over 50 years of production.

Classic is a versatile harness for all popular driving activities. It has traditional proportions in keeping for formal and traditional occasions, such as showing, dressage and cones. It also has the core strength to withstand the rigors of marathon and tough competition conditions. This makes it a excellent all round harness that can be used for a variety of disciplines. Classic parts are interchangeable throughout the size range and combinations, making it the perfect choice for present and future aspirations!

Zilco Classic is available in pony, cob and full size and can be purchased in single, pair, tandem and team combinations.

Classic Harness Specifications:

• Bridle – winker stays with adjustable wire core. Hanging nose band that is adjustable on both sides. Bridle strap widths: Pony 13mm & cob/full size 19mm
• Breastplate – Width  85mm with buckles for traces.
• False martingale – Width 19mm with quick release clips for attachment.
• Traces – Dee ends width 32mm
• Saddle – width 100mm
• Saddle pads – detachable for individual positioning. Thickness 30mm pony & 45mm cob/full
• Breeching – Double hip strap19mm wide.
• Breeching seat – Padded width 60mm
• Reins – Supplied with Zilco Z-grip reins as standard.
• Tugs – on single variants tugs are Quick release.

Classic harness is a medium weight harness in a traditional style – approximate weight of harness is Pony 8kg, Cob 9kg and Full 10kg. Each set is supplied with a Zilco vented carry and storage bag.

Combinations:

• Classic Single with fixed backband suitable for four wheelers and carriages with independent shafts.
• Classic Single with sliding backband suitable for 2 wheelers and four wheelers with fixed shafts (back band can be fixed using conway buckles- available separately).

Single to pair conversion can be made with the following additional parts to 2 x single sets – 1 x set of pairs reins, 2 x Classic pairs breastplates, 2 x pairs of pairs breeching side straps, 2 pairs of loose buckle pieces and a set of polestraps.

• Classic Pair – Pony sets come standard buckle polestraps 25mm wide and cob/full sets come with 38mm wide quick release polestraps.

One side of a pairs harness can be converted to a single harness using the following additional items – 1 x set of single reins, 1x Classic single breastplate, 1 pair of single breeching straps and 1 x pair of quick release tugs.

• Classic Tandem Leader –  Leader harness is supplied with a trace carrier instead of breeching, tandem leader traces, tandem leader reins and a pair of roger rings to attach to the wheeler bridle.
• Classic Tandem Wheeler – Wheeler harness is essentially a Classic single harness with the following additions to be made to it – Figure of 8 rein terrets to replace standard terrets on saddle pad and tandem spoons.

• Classic Team – Complete team sets come with 4 bridles , wheeler and leader reins, 4 x Breastplates, complete leader classic saddle pads x 2, complete wheeler classic saddle pads x 2, wheeler breeching x 2, leader trace carriers x 4 (2 x standard and 2 x elastic) ,  4 x sets of traces (2 leader and 2 wheeler), wheeler pole straps (Pony 25mm buckle version – cob/full 38mm quick release version), leader coupling strap and a pair of roger rings for wheeler bridles.
