Danish Driving Society Visit

Hartland Carriages Latest News

On Friday the 9th of September we had a lovely visit from 25 members of the Danish driving society with their chairman of the traditional driving committee. This group has visited a number of carriage collection whilst in the UK including the Mossman Collection near Luton and The Maidstone Carriage Collection as well as many private collections including our own. Our guests arrived at 10am to enjoy a  coffee whilst being able to look around all of the carriages we have at the moment, after which Joanne gave a more detailed tour, explaining the history behind some of our favorite vehicles. The tour groups organiser Klavs Olesen was impressed with our collection of original vehicles for larger horses (including a Holland & Holland Park Drag, Selby & Co Wagonette Brake, Browns of Windsor Roof Seat Brake,  Hooper & Co Roof Seat Brake and many more) , and said it is lovely that they are sympathetically restored and used. After the tour we took two pairs of our Friesian horses out and took the group up to one of our local pubs, the Black Horse – (we’re not bias at all due to the Friesians). We had a lovely lunch with our new friends before bidding then farewell as they went off to the next stop on their visit.
